About WENAF
Wellness Advocacy Africa is a Ghana-based non-governmental organization dedicated to promoting holistic wellness across the African continent.
Our Mission
To advocate for and implement evidence-based wellness programs that address physical, psychological, societal, financial, and environmental health needs of communities across Africa, empowering individuals and families to lead healthier, more fulfilling lives.
Our Vision
An Africa where every individual has access to comprehensive wellness resources and support systems, where communities thrive through holistic health, and where well-being is recognized as a fundamental right and driver of sustainable development.
Our Core Values
Dignity & Respect
We treat every individual with dignity, recognizing beneficiaries as capable people with agency, not passive recipients.
Community-Led
Our programs are designed with communities, not for them. Local knowledge guides everything we do.
Evidence-Based
We ground our work in research and data, measuring impact transparently and adapting based on outcomes.
Pan-African
While rooted in Ghana, our vision spans the continent. Wellness knows no borders.
Accountability
Every cedi and dollar is tracked and reported. We publish annual impact reports for full transparency.
Innovation
We embrace technology, creative approaches, and cross-sector partnerships to maximize our reach.
Our Story
Founded in 2020 in Accra, Ghana, Wellness Advocacy Africa (WENAF) emerged from a simple observation: health is not merely the absence of disease. True wellness encompasses the mind, body, community, livelihood, and environment.
Our founders — public health professionals, mental health advocates, and community organizers — recognized that existing programs often addressed wellness in silos. A family might receive malaria nets but lack access to counseling. A youth might attend skills training but live in an area without clean water.
WENAF bridges these gaps through an integrated approach aligned with 10 of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals. Today, we operate across multiple regions in Ghana with plans to expand into neighboring West African countries.
